What our guest are saying
The mount Everest region is second only to the Annapurna in terms of the number of trekkers visiting it annually and it would surely be the most popular destination in the country were it not slightly more difficult to get to. The Everest region is home to the famous Sherpa People; the Solu-Khumbu is a paradise of unparalleled mountain splendor, boasting four of the worlds’ 14 eight thousand-metre peaks – Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Makalu – and host of others in excess of 7000 (22,967ft). This region is arguably the jewel in Nepal’s mountain crown.
Most Everest trekkers avoid the hardest walking by flying in and out of the crowded Lukla airstrip. If you have got the time and energy, the walk-in from Jiri through the traditional Sherpa homeland is worth effort. Trekking to the Everest Base Camp is exceptionally close views of the world’s highest mountain – Mt Everest from Kalapattar. Trekking through some of the most famous and beautiful mountain scenery anywhere. See glacial lakes and the sheer magnificence of the Khumbu ice-fall. Hiking and walking through enchanting remote Sherpa villages and Tibetan monasteries. Follow the footsteps of the famous early mountaineers Hillary and Tenzing.
Everest Trail Walker offers a selection of trips to the Everest base camp, Gokyo and surrounding area. Most trekkers stay in the comfortable lodges or tea-houses of the region. The Everest region is rightly famous for its incredible mountain views that can be gained with comparatively little effort, together with the rich Sherpa culture.
